Daddy Dils

Abbie is a very good little flower arranger. At first. She picks each stem up one at a time, examines it carefully and places it stem side down in the water.

By about stem #6 she has lost her enthusiasm and picks a big bunch up and shoves them all into the vase.

Abbie can recognize daffodils and can say, "daffodil" but it sounds very similar to 'Daddy'. Sometimes when Abbie and Mommy look out the window in the kitchen Abbie will say, "daddy" and Mommy will say, "No honey, Daddy is at work." And then Abbie will say "Daddy" and point to the window and Mommy will say, "No honey, Daddy is at work." Abbie will insist, "daddy" and point to the window. At which point Mommy usually recognizes the daffodils outside.

Abbie is preparing Mommy for the teenage years when Abbie will claim to be speaking English but Mommy will have no idea what she's saying.
