Daddy and Mommy are both big fans of Alton Brown and couldn't wait to see him speak at Third Place Books during his current book tour to promote Good Eats, The Early Years. Mommy gave Abbie the sometimes-we-do-things-we-don't-want-to-because-it-makes-the-other-members-of-our-family-happy speech. Turns out, Abbie had a great time (I'm sure the ice cream cone had something to do with it.) She thought it was funny that the man on the cover of the book was also on TV and also at the bookstore. When we got home and ready for bed, Abbie decided she wanted Daddy to read from the new book. It's very funny to hear Daddy read, "1 sirloin end, leg of lamb. 4 garlic cloves, 8 mint leaves...."
