Broken legs

Now that Abbie walks (and runs and jumps and climbs and descends stairs) we expect Abbie to do her own walking. Abbie though, sometimes prefers to be carried, especially up and down the stairs. "Up, mama up." Occasionally one can convince Abbie to go down the stairs under her own power once she's been asked to be carried down the stairs, but not very often.

During our recent heat wave Abbie was lethargic and wanted to be carried everywhere. She stood at the top of the stairs and whined for Mommy to carry her down the stairs. "It's too hot for Mommy to carry you, honey. You can walk down by yourself." Abbie's reply: "No, mama, broken legs." I guess Mommy has asked Abbie one too many times if her legs are broken when she asks to be lifted up.
