We announed it way back in March, but tomorrow is the day. Abbie's first day of school. While summer school officially began today, Abbie won't start until tomorrow. This one-day lag gave Mommy and Abbie the opportunity to visit Abbie's classroom briefly before she officially begins. During the visit today, Abbie got to meet her teachers ("there are lots of lots of teachers") see her classroom, and meet some of the students. Abbie has a cubby to put her treasure in, a bin for extra clothes, and a place to store her blanket and small pillow for naps. What a relief to learn that it's OK to bring a small "love" or animal for rest time. Lucky baby penguin gets to go with Abbie tomorrow to school.
After everyone has an opportunity to dry tears and compose themselves, we'll post about the first day of school. Wish us all luck!
