Final Portland post

We spent much of the day on Sunday driving around the Portland environs. We stopped at the Sandy River and Daddy and Abbie practiced their engineering skills by building a couple of water diversion projects.

Abbie was soaked at the end of their play time so we had to spend about ten minutes in the campground bathroom blowing her dry. Lucky for us she's a good sport and thought the entire experience was funny. She's a hearty northwest kid and doesn't think anything about being soaking wet in sub-60 degree temperatures.

We also drove up to Mt. Hood and stopped at Timberline Lodge. We did not let a little snow (snow?!!) deter us from a tour of the Lodge. Everyone got out of the car and ran to the lodge. Well, everyone except Abbie who had the "broken legs" and needed to be carried by Mommy. Fortunately once we were inside the lodge we could stand by the fire for a bit to warm up.

As we wandered around the public areas we could see a wedding party posing for photos. Mommy and Daddy were reminded of a different September in a different lodge and their own wedding party. We're coming up on the 11th anniversary of that particular event.
